Lone Star GeyserPosted by Basstrax (Pensacola, United States) on 27 March 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Lone Star Geyser is one of our favorite back country geysers. It is located about 2.3 miles from the parking area off the Grand Loop Road in Yellowstone National Park. It's and easy hike due to the old roadbed that makes up the trail. The geyser erupts about every three hours, so take a lunch and wait for the show. Don't leave before the final steam phase occurs. More Photos of Yellowstone. You must immerse yourself in your surroundings, the photos on this blog will be limited to THINGS YOU CAN'T SEE FROM THE ROAD. I will be moving to our summer location today (05/09/08).
